Frimley
Frimley is a small town situated on the periphery of Camberley within easy
access to the M3 and A331. It hosts several Business Parks and a local train
station. The town centre is home to an Italian restaurant and a large, family
public house/restaurant which has recently undergone a total refurbishment.
It offers a local Waitrose supermarket and easy access to a Sainsburys multistore.
Frimley Park Hospital, just outside of the town centre, is currently rated
as one of the best in the area. Frimley is also home to Tomlinscote Senior
School and Sixth Form College, one of best state schools in Surrey. There
are a selection of other well respected and highly sought after local schools
and nurseries. The retail complex, Farnborough Gate, is situated just off
the A331. It comprises of a selection of stores
including Currys, Next and TKMax.
Frimley Green
Frimley Green is a picturesque village situated between Frimley and Mytchett.
It offers a village green where several summer fetes take place. The Lakeside
Hotel and Leisure complex, established in 1972, is renowned as one of the UK`s
top venues for Star International Cabaret and for dinner & dancing, and
attracts audiences from all over the world. It also offers the Lakeside International
and Lakeside Continental Hotels and a family restaurant situated alongside
the picturesque Basingstoke Canal. Frimley Green is also home to Frimley Lodge
Park, where the historic Basingstoke Canal, once a commercial waterway, now
offers opportunities for pleasant walks & boat trips and various sport & leisure
activities.
Camberley
Camberley is a now a thriving modern borough. Centrally situated to Guildford,
Farnborough, Fleet, Basingstoke and Woking, it offers a wide range of activities
for all ages. It boasts the recent opening of The Atrium Centre, a massive
retail and leisure complex with a residential development consisting of one
and two bedroom apartments. The Atrium Centre, situated off Park Street, offers
shoppers, residents and visitors a variety of family orientated leisure facilities,
including a cinema, 20-lane bowling alley, restaurants and a 680 space multi-storey
car park. Further shops and stores can be found in The Mall or the High Streets.
Other facilities in Camberley include a train station offering easy commute
to London, Camberley Arena Leisure Centre, Camberley Theatre and The Meadows,
comprising a superstore Marks & Spencers and Tescos (open 24 Hours). You
will also find a number of popular local schools, including the highly regarded
Crawley Ridge Infants School, and two beautiful 18-hole golf courses, Camberley
Heath and Pine Ridge. Virginia Water, a picturesque lake where the whole family
can enjoy walking or cycling, is a short drive away in Sunningdale.
Mytchett
Mytchett was originally farmland and is now mainly residential. Mytchett
Lake is popular with anglers, and local people can enjoy sport and leisure
activities at The Quays. Situated just off the A331, The Quays is a family
public house/restaurant offering real ales and good food. They regularly
feature live music, and TV sports are shown in the bar. The beer garden overlooks
Mytchett Lake where you can participate in, or enjoy watching, various water
sports. The A331, which gives access to the M3 motorway, can be joined in
a northerly direction, or a short drive to Ash Vale enables you to access
the A331 in a southerly direction for connections to the A3.
Deepcut
Deepcut is a small village surrounded by acres of open heathland and woods,
mainly owned by the Ministry of Defence. It is home to the Royal Logistics
Corps and the RLC Museum. A vast majority of the residential housing in Deepcut
can be found on the Dettingen Park development. This estate was erected in
2004 by Barratt Homes and Wimpey Homes. More housing is planned for Deepcut
over the coming years which should also herald a significant change in the
infrastructure. Deepcut is situated within close proximity of Camberley and
Frimley Green.
